Dr. Sammie L. Logan III An accomplished teacher, school counselor, and workshop facilitator, Dr. Sammie L. Logan III has spent more than 20 years in public education. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, and graduate of Maury High School, Dr. Logan double majored in Psychology and Religion at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Immediately after graduating from Morehouse, he returned to Virginia to earn a Master of Education degree with an emphasis in School Counseling from The College of William & Mary. Before graduation, Sam secured a position with Newport News Public Schools and began his journey as an educator. Since that time, he has served several school divisions in Hampton Roads. In addition to being an educator, Dr. Logan is the pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. With a Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Union University, an Executive Leadership Certificate from Howard University, a Doctor of Ministry degree from Wesley Theological Seminary, an evident passion for people, and an irresistible divine push, Dr. Logan provides both spiritual direction and executive leadership to a multigenerational congregation.
Along with his wife, Tonya, also a lifelong educator, Dr. Logan formed A Better Life, Inc. Through workshops, programs, camps, resource sharing, referrals, and partnerships, A Better
Life, Inc. is a non-profit organization striving to help people secure their P.L.A.C.E in the world. To adequately prepare for his role in non-profit governance, Sam completed the Project Inclusion Non-Profit Leadership program sponsored by the United Way of South Hampton Roads. Sam Logan III is a happy husband, faithful father, and committed community servant.
